Diamond rings, cash worth ` 10 lakh stolen from starred hotel in Cavelossim

In a major theft reported at a starred hotel at Cavelossim, a Delhi-based businessman has complained to the Colva police that cash and jewelry, all valued around Rs 10 lakh was stolen from the room he and his family were staying in at the hotel. 

Acting on the complaint, the Colva police has registered a FIR against unknown culprits and investigation is in progress.  

Colva police station in-charge, PI Melson Colaco informed that the Delhi native was staying in the starred resort as he was attending a wedding in Goa when the incident allegedly took place. He said that two diamond rings and a necklace, besides cash, all amounting to Rs 10 lakh was stolen from the hotel

 room.  

He said the police have registered a case based on the complaint lodged by the Delhi native, adding that investigations are underway in the matter.
